30 PIECES OF SILVER

 *Text ;* Mathew 26:15 ISV

*And inquired, “What are you willing to give me if I betray Jesus to you?” They offered him 30 pieces of silver,*

I am sure we all know Judas; a one time disciple of Jesus Christ, popularly known as the betrayer. He should have been regarded as an Apostle today but for 30 pieces of silver.

Judas inquired (from the people seeking to

kill Jesus) how much he would be paid if he turned Jesus in. And he was offered 30 pieces of silver.

I know you know how this story ended. But today is not so much about Judas Iscariot, but about you.

It's easy to condemn Judas for his infamous acts but the question is, how much is the worth of Jesus in your life?

For 30 pieces of silver,  Judas betrayed Jesus. What is the reason for your own disloyalty to Christ today?

The 30 "pieces of silver" would be worth approximately $91 to $441 in present-day value (USD) depending on which coin was used. Do you really think this amount is worth betraying Jesus for?

The real question should be, do you really think that job is worth denying Christ for?

Is that enjoyment worths betraying Jesus for?

Is that grade more important to you than Jesus?

Would you because of the profit you will make from that business lower God's standard in your life?

How much are you being offered to betray the king of Glory?

Judas betrayed Jesus and He was crucified ( albeit for the remission of the sin of the whole world) but you can actually crucify Him the second time through your daily living. Galatian. 6:6.

Nothing in this world is worth betraying or denying Jesus for. *Judas did not live to spend the 30 pieces of silver he betrayed Jesus for. Be careful not to be carried away by your lust.*

 *BIBLE READING* :

Matthew 10:32-40.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Father,  please deliver me from whatever lusts that may make me to deny you.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
