THE HEAD

Text : Heb 13:4 ISV

 *Let marriage be kept honorable in every way, and the marriage bed undefiled. For God will judge those who commit sexual sins, especially those who commit adultery.*

Today, we shall be looking at the role of a man as a husband and father.

The man is the Head (the leader) in every normal home. *The agitation for equality in our world today is clearly against the program of God.*

God is a God of order.
1 Corinthians 14:40 says *Let all things be done decently and in order.* These all things include your marriage
 ```But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.``` 1 Corinthians  11:3.
The home organigram is very clear. But the devil knows that once the head is correct,  every other thing will align, that's why he goes about ensuring that men live without direction.
For any man to play his 'headship' role correctly,  he must be a man who knows and have accepted Christ as his head. This order  cannot be broken if sanctity is to be assured.
Many husbands cannot give goodly and godly direction to their wives because they are living without the head which is Christ.
Also,  a man doubles as the husband (head and leader) to his wife and as a father to his children.
As a father, your primary responsibility is to nurture the children that God has given you.
 *And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.* Ephesians  6:4.
There are enough fathers today who have mastered the art of provoking their children. But God wants you to stand out from among them and be different.
Bring up the heritage of God in your care in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Note that you can only give what you have. If you have not been nurtured in the admonition of the Lord,  you can't nurture up others. Allow God to lead your heart so you can be better equipped to lead others.
 *BIBLE READING* : Ephesians 5: 22-33.
 *PRAYER FOCUS*
1. Lord, give me the wisdom and strength to nurture my marriage to fruition in Jesus name.
2. Pray for all the men you know that they will be God fearing husbands and a worthy father.
THE GOOD FIGHT-2
Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...
IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN
Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...
IN MY NAME.
Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
