SISTER MARY 2

Text : Luke 1:30.

*And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.*

Hundreds of years before Mary was born, prophecy had gone forth that a virgin shall bear a son.  _Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel._ Isaiah  7:14.

In essence, God needed a virgin in order to fulfil His long standing promise. The other side of the coin is that this Son of God has to come through the tribe of Judah.

Now, Mary was espoused to a man called Joseph who is from the tribe of Judah, Luke 1:27. All these made Mary a qualified maiden for this glorious assignment.

Though the heavens were set to release Jesus for the  redemption of mankind, but if Mary had defiled herself she would have been disqualified.

*God doesn't have problem blessing you, the problem is your readiness to receive.*

When God is set to use you to carry out His plan and you make yourself unavailable,  God will never be stranded,  He'll simply improvise with another person. When Judas disqualified himself from the twelve Apostles,  Matthias was brought in as replacement. Acts 1:26.

When Saul failed, God raised David. *The only personality that is irreplaceable is the Almighty God Himself,  no man is indispensable,  don't overestimate yourself.*

One of the major prerequisite for Mary to qualify as the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ is for her to be a virgin. If she had messed up herself,  we probably would not have heard of her name.

Let's assume that Mary had been disvirgined before her time, and she had asked God for forgiveness. Though she would have received the pardon, but she can never be the carrier of our Lord Jesus Christ.

*Yes, God is merciful,  and He will abundantly pardon,  but some scars can never be washed away.*

*You are the only one that profits from your chastity,  don't ever think you are doing God a favour.*

What you call smartness now may be a stumbling block to your promotion tomorrow,  be well guided.

For Sister Mary, it was virginity,  for Esau, it was his birthright. Genesis. 27:36. What will it be for you? What is God asking you to guard so jealously so as not to miss your divine visitation?

Bible Reading  : Luke 1:26-38.

 *Prayer point*

1. Lord, let not another take my place, help me to be faithful.

2. Lord, let me not miss my reward in Jesus name.
