PRAY

Text : Luke 18:1

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

Prayerlessness is one major problem amongst many Christians today.  While so many find it easier to spend more time with their phones than praying, some others pray, but they pray amiss.

If Jesus said that men ought always to pray, then we must take the matter of prayer more serious. From Jesus' statement, it is obvious that if you are not praying, you are fainting.
So, you are either a praying Christian or a fainting Christian.

Sometimes, praying can appear to be a tedious work. Some even say that prayer is a work. Yes it is a tiring work for many who are carnal. It is a scary work for carnal christians as well. But, for people who always want to experience victory in their walk with the Lord, it is a sweet work of Faith.

See the testimony of Epaphras:
_“Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured. I vouch for him that he is working hard for you and for those at Laodicea and Hierapolis.”_ Colossians 4:12-13

This disciple sees the need for the Colossian Church to Stand upright before the Lord, hence he laboured for them in the place of prayer.

Anyone who will truly maintain a closer walk with the Lord must learn to pray. Don't pray only when problem comes, but make praying your practice and habit so that when challenges come, you would have mastered the art of effective praying.

Jesus told the parable about the woman seeking justice from a wicked judge to teach us two major lessons:

1. To Pray ceaselessly and persistently,

We are being told to pray
without ceasing.(1 Thess.  5:17). Are you fainting in the place of prayer? Are you giving up on God?
Are you loosing hope because of long awaited unfulfilled desire? Jesus is once again calling you to the alter of prayer today.

2.  Not Loosing Faith:

When you no longer find prayer essential in your life, one major possibility you are confronted with is that you are loosing Faith.  Jesus asked a question after the parable in Luke 18:8: _Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?_
Effective praying is synonymous to Faith in God, so when you no longer engage in effective praying, it reveals that you are no longer in Faith.

May the Lord baptize you afresh with His fresh and Holy fire so that your alter can burn once again.

Bible Reading: Luke 18:1-8.

Prayer Points

1.Lord rekindle my prayer altar with your holy fire.

2. Father, deliver me from every lethargy and fatigue in the place of prayer.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

HIS VOICE- 2

Text : John 10:3. To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. We established yesterday that one thing you can't joke with as a true follower of Christ is *His Voice.* You must recognise and hearken to (obey) His voice. It is in doing this that your safety is assured.  Today, we want to see another responsibility of the Shepherd over His sheep.  To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, *and leads them out.* John 10:3.  He called you, that He might lead you. It is not enough for you to hear or recognise His Voice, you must allow Him to lead you as well.  Romans 8:14 says *For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.*   The Spirit leading you determines the family you belong to. Basically,  there are only two families in this world - the family of God, and the family of satan. In other words, we can say the Kingdom...
