LEAN ON HIM 2

Text : Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

If you are told to trust God with all your heart, it means that you can trust God partially. It means that man's heart can be splitted and divided into many parts. A man can partly trust God, and also trust in many other alternatives.

For a typical man, there are varied options. If option A does not work, option B will work, and if B does not work, option C will work. This is how man's heart works since the fall in the garden.

A heart that is not fully settled on God, will surely lean on his own understanding. God wants the whole of our heart settled on Him. God wants the whole of you. Everything or nothing. We often find it difficult to focus on God and wholly trust Him because we lean on our understanding and not on Him.

To trust God with all your heart is to settle on only one option-God.  When you cannot trust the Lord with all your heart, you will certainly resolve to leaning on your own understanding. Leaning on your own understanding, will lead to more and more alienation from God. The more you find yourself being able to do stuffs without God's help, the farther you keep moving away from God's authority over your life. Just as Cain left God's presence and he and his children brought about great innovation and civilisation(good and evil) outside of God's supervion,  authority and presence. Gen. 4:16-24

To experience God's salvation, we must totally depend and lean on Him in every single details of our lives.

Our Lord Jesus said in John 5:19 "...Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise" Jesus during His earthly life only imitates the Father. He never lean on his own understanding. Your understanding must not take the place of God, rather it should be subjected under God in order to carry out Everything whatsoever He commands.

Bible Reading: Proverbs 3:1-6.

 *Prayer Points*
1. Father give me grace to always trust in you with the whole of my heart.

2. Lord help me not to lean on my own understanding.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

THE GREATEST

Text : Matthew 18:4   *Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.*   *Being the greatest in the kingdom is not about what you do but who you are.* Jesus pointed out here that little children are humble beings. Hence, what qualifies a person as the greatest in the kingdom of heaven is humility. Little children are both lowly and meek. These are qualities that does not come naturally to an adult. For instance, when you bring a little child from a wealthy background to live in a very poor home with another poor little child, he will gladly comply without any struggle. He will never complain or compare. He will simply adapt and gladly receive all the low and impoverished treatments. No adult or grown up child can accept this so easily.  That is the reason Jesus did not ask us to be converted and become as a child but ' *little child* '   _And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be co...
