INSIGNIFICANT 2

Text : 2Kings 4:2.

*Elisha responded, “What shall I do for you? Tell me what you have in your house.” She replied, “Your servant has nothing in the entire house except for a flask of oil.”*

The story was told of a woman who was just bereaved of her husband. She was a poor widow with two other lives (her sons) to cater for. As if her predicament was not grave enough, her late husband left loans for her to service.

It turned out that her creditor was the impatient type. Since she couldn't pay up, her children were to be taken into indentured servitude. At this point, God gave this woman enough wisdom to run to the right place and person for help.

*Every challenge should  push you closer to God and not otherwise.*

The man of God demanded to know what the woman had. *Naturally, man is quick to remember and recount what he does not have than  what he has.*

The woman replied that,  “Your servant has nothing in the entire house except for a flask of oil.” The truth is, God did not create anyone as an empty vessel. No, He deposited in each and everyone a uniqueness. This explains why every individual comes with different palm prints.

*Now, it is one thing to have a gift, it's another to acknowledge it or even use it.* The first response the woman gave was that she had nothing, before she later added that there's one "insignificant" bottle of oil in the house.
Devil always help man in magnifying his needs and make him oblivion of his blessings. Snap out of it and appreciate God for what you have, rather than complain about what you don't.

A *number of times, God choses the things that man has regarded as insignificant to showcase His glory,* (1 Cor. 1:27,) so  that it can be obvious to all that this is the Lord's doing.

I'm sure you know the end of the story, God multiplied the oil, and delivered her from debt. God is ready to multiply His blessings upon your life, but first, you must acknowledge the seemingly insignificant blessings He had given you already.

Bible Reading  : 2 Kings 4:1-7.

 *Prayer Focus*

1. Father, I'm sorry for not appreciating your blessings in my life.

2. Lord, help me to see what you have blessed me with that I  may be better positioned to receive more.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
