Text : Math. 28:20
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The hallmark of a disciple of Christ is teachability. Those that has been taught by Christ are saddled with the responsibility of teaching others.
While Jesus was here on earth, He taught His disciples day and night. When He was about leaving, He told them He will send them another comforter who will teach them all things. John 14:26. That is, for a disciple of Christ teaching is ongoing. When you refused to be taught, you are simply removing yourself from the school of the Spirit.
Now, after Jesus had died and resurrected and was about ascending to the Father, He gave His disciples (which includes you and I,) this great commission...
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Therefore, as you go, disciple people in all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything that I’ve commanded you. And remember, I am with you each and every day until the end of the age.” matt.28;18-20.
In essence, the true chain of Christ's discipleship is that, you are first a disciple, raised to be a discipler of disciples who will be disciplers of others. 2 Tim. 2:22.
And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
All true disciple of Christ are commissioned to disciple others. That is, it's either you are being discipled or you are discipling someone. Note that if you are not a disciple of Christ, it doesn't mean you are not a disciple at all, it simply means you are a disciple of this world whose master is the devil.
So, there are two types of disciples in this world, the disciples of Christ and the disciples of this world. It's all a matter of who you yield to, whose teachings are you adhering to?
Rom 6:16 says Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?
