NECESSARY ADDITIONS

Text : 2 Peter 1:5.

 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

We established yesterday that for your good works to count, it must be built on your faith in Christ. However, your life as a Christian will not be beautiful and can't bring glory to God if you refused to work on putting the necessary additions.
Today, we shall be looking at knowledge as one of the necessary additions to faith.

KNOWLEDGE: It is interesting to know that it is your responsibility as a child of God to seek for knowledge. Knowledge wouldn't just drop on your laps, you have to desire it and you have to seek for it.

Many have zeal for God albeit without knowledge, yet, ignorance is not an excuse  anywhere. Therefore, get enlightened.

Romans  10:2 says  For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

Zeal without knowledge will only make you a religious person.

Grace and peace will only be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God. 2 Pet.1:2. You need knowledge to escape the pollution of this world. 2 Peter 2:20.

Knowledge is progressive, don't get satisfied with the level you are right now,  inquire to know more of Him on a daily basis. The more you know,  the more you will want to know more.
Seek to  grow in  grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. 2 Peter  3:18.

Bible Reading : 2 Peter 1:1-15.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...
