ARE YOU PREPARED?

Text : 2 Peter 3:11

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

One major question that must be in the heart of everyone willing to meet with the Lord is: How prepared am I?

Many are really not ready for the second arrival of our Lord; and that is the reason for the coldness in the church today.

Apostle Peter painted a clear picture of what the end would be. He said in 2 Peter 3:10 that:

1. The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night;

2. The heavens shall pass away with a great noise in the day of the Lord.

3. The elements shall melt with fervent heat in the day of the Lord.

4. The earth and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

In view of the above four(4)major occurrences that would accompany  the day of the Lord; Apostle Peter categorically asked the followers (including you) of the Lord a very important question in verse :
Since all these things are all in the process of being dissolved, what kind of person ought [each of] you to be  in consecrated and holy behavior and devout and godly qualities...

God wants us to keep consecrated and holy behaviour during the short time we are staying on this side of eternity.

Do not forget that all labours and energies expended outside of Christ shall burn with this present earth. Wisdom therefore demands that you invest your energies on things that can transcends the present times.
John 6:27, 2 Cor. 4:18.

Do not forget that you are an eternal being, given a time-bound life opportunity to prepare for a timeless eternity.Be wise to make your life counts for eternity.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
