MY SHEPHERD 2

Text : Psalms 23:1

*The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.*

*The Lord cannot be your shepherd and you will be in want.* If you allow the Lord to shepherd you, you will not be in want of anything. A sheep does not struggle to get anything done in "his" own strenght. A sheep simply obeys the shepherd and that takes care of its needs.

When the scripture talks about want, do not think of " financial want" only. *There are many people with lots of money that are still in want. True Want is the Want of God's life and presence in a man.* . The primitive root of the Hebrew word from which want is coined from can be ; to lack ; by implication to fail, to lessen: - be abated, be bereaved, decrease, (cause to) fail, (have) lack, make lower, want.

Though you may be walking through the valley of the shadow of death, but you shall not lack divine protection if the Lord is your shepherd.

Jesus our great shepherd once asked His disciples, "....When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing?" They replied and they said, Nothing.(Luke 22:35).

The only reason you will find yourself in want is, if you journey away( in spiritual distance) from the shepherd. This is also true of any sheep that strays.

In the parable Jesus told about a man with two sons. The younger son collected portion of his own goods and took his journey into a far country. Not many days after he left his father, (having spent all he had), there arose a mighty famine in that land; *and he began to be in want.*

Luke 15:12-14.

*Check it whenever you are in Want, it could be because you have strayed from the Shepherd, quickly trace your steps back.*

As a true child of God, if it appears you are in need of something, do not be in a hurry to categorise yourself as a person that is in want. Your Shepherd is in charge and He will bring you into your resting place soon. Don't give up. The Shepherd is leading you into your wealthy place.

*The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.* Psalms 34:10.

Bible Reading : Luke 15:14-32.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
