PRACTICE RIGHTEOUSNESS 2

Text : 1Jn 3:7 ISV 

 *Little children, don’t let anyone deceive you. The person who practices righteousness is righteous, just as the Messiah is righteous.* 

Though,, righteousness is a gift from God which every believer in Christ Jesus received at birth; yet God expects every believer to live out the gift of righteousness received. 

*You are expected to LIVE-OUT and express the gift of righteousness you received at conversion through righteous living* . 

A golden warning Jesus Christ gave to all His disciples is to be cautious of deception. One of the things believers are being deceived on today is the issue of righteousness. 

 *It is your responsibility to guard against deception, see to it that no one deceives you.* 

Let's get this straight, A person who is united to Christ does not go on sinning. But if a person goes on sinning, he really does not know Christ at all. He does not understand who Christ is.1Jn 3:6 EasyEnglish.

The Easyenglish version of the Bible is more blunt on this issue :

But some people go on doing what is wrong. Those people belong to the Devil. The Devil has been doing wrong things from the start. This is why the Son of God came. He came to destroy everything that the Devil had done.

No person who is a child of God should continue to sin. This is because God has given him a new life. He cannot continue to sin, because he is a child of God.

This is how we know who are the children of God. And this is how we know who are the children of the Devil. Some people do not do what is right. They are not his children. And people who do not love other Christians are not God’s children. 1 John 3:8-10.

 *When you came to Jesus, you received inputted righteousness of God, now that you are in Christ, it's time to start practicing righteousness.*

WHEN GOD IS SILENT(2)

Text: Matthew 4:1  *Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.*  We saw yesterday that God was not pleased with many israelites that left Egypt for the promised land  (Corinthians 10:5).  A good percentage of the Israelites were overthrown in the wilderness.   Wilderness experience is not what any child of God desires, but it is an experience God sends or allows his children go through. In Deuteronomy 8:2, God says that He *LED* the Isrealites through the wilderness for forty years to humble them, to prove them, and to know what was in their heart whether they would keep his commandments or not.  Our Lord Jesus Christ was also *LED* into the wilderness by the Spirit of the Lord to be tempted by the devil. You will  notice there is a similar feature of the number *40(forty)* between these two wilderness experiences. That is, that of the Israelites and our Lord Jesus Christ. GULLIBLE BUT INTELLIGENT

Text : Mat 25:31-32  *When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:*   *And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:*  Have you ever wondered why Jesus compared His followers to sheep and not goats?  Sheep has reputation for being stupid, defenceless and harmless creatures that mope about on hillsides doing not very much. They are good for two things: being eaten and producing wool.
