THE RAIN, THE FLOOD AND THE WIND

Text : Mathew 7:25 ISV

*The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, but it did not collapse because its foundation was on the rock.*

*It is certain that whoever has the seed of God's word will be visited with commensurate test because of the word.*

In Matthew 13, Jesus, while explaining the parable of the sower to His disciples said: troubles and persecution will come because of the word. Math13:21.

Note that Jesus didn't say "if troubles and persecution comes " rather, He said "when". 'When' speaks of time, that is, it's a certainty that trouble will come, it's just the timing that may be different from each individuals.

*Jesus didn't promise us a 'bread and butter', bed of roses Christian journey, only the sugarcoated, not-well-grounded evangelists do.*

Devil doesn't have issues with anyone who has no access to hearing of God's word. As far as he is concerned, they are within his reach already.

But he goes after whoever has the word.

This explains why those who obey the word and those who merely heard the word are faced with the same test.

Jesus always use things we can relate with to drive His point home. Let's briefly check out His analogy in our text today :

*The Rain :* Rain falls from above. Some of the troubles you will encounter by reason of the word you have received will come from people above you. Your parents, your husband, your teachers, your boss, etc.

Watch out for the rain, it's an opportunity to try out how solid your faith is.

*The Flood :* Flood can wreck a huge havoc to a building if the foundation is not solid. Flood flows on the ground. The people that are beneath you (so to speak) can fault your faith if you are not well grounded in love.

Your conducts towards your children, your wife,l your students, your employees and so on can demote or promote you in your walk with God. *WATCH OUT FOR THE NEXT OPPORTUNITY TO DIE TO SELF AND DON'T BLOW IT AWAY.*

*The Wind :* Wind blows from any four quarters of the earth. That is, trouble can span from just anywhere.

*I have told you this so that through me you may llhave peace. In the world you’ll have trouble, but be courageous—I’ve overcome the world!”* John 16:33

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
