REPENT 2

Text : Mar 1:15.

*And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.*

*Salvation cycle is only complete when believing meets repentance.REPENT AND BELIEVE.*

*Any 'unrepented believer' is not only injurious to himself but to the whole body of Christ.*

While Simon the Sorcerer was following Philip, he was believed to be a believer until situation revealed his true identity. Acts. 8:9-18. This is the true identity of anyone who is an unrepented believer :

1. *They equate money with spiritual things.*

Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money.Act 8:18.

*One thing that can conveniently compete with the space of God in your life is money. Beware of mammon.*

Jesus called both God and mammon Masters.

_No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon._ Luke 16:13. Which of these two masters are you obeying?

Mammon in international standard version is referred to as wealth, while another version simply calls it money.

Just as Simon offered money to the Apostles in exchange for spiritual gift, so do many so called Christians give money to prophets, pastors and the likes in exchange for prayers, prophecies, miracles, visions and the likes.

All these are the byproducts of believers who never really repented, believers who never really had a solid encounter with Jesus Christ.

2. *They are not mindful about eternity.*

_You have no part or share in what we’re saying, because your heart isn’t right with God_ .Act 8:21.

*Anyone whose heart isn't right with God can't ascend to Him. God cares so much about your heart's content*

LORD, who may stay in your tent? Who may dwell on your holy mountain?

The one who lives with integrity, who does righteous deeds, and who speaks truth to himself. PS. 15:1-2.

*Yes, it's good to confess the right thing, but confession must go hand in hand with believing and living right.* Don't just confess to be a believer or a Christian, you must PRACTICE RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.1Jn 3:7.

3. *There's still room for repentance.*

_So repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, your heart’s intent may be forgiven you._ Act 8:22.

If you are still alive in the flesh, then hope is not lost. You still have the Grace to repent and turn to God. Regardless of how far you have gone in your believing journey, if the Spirit of God is convicting your heart right now to repent, please do not hesitate, run to the cross for mercy and He will abundantly pardon.

*If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.* 1Jn 1:9.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
