JUST OBEY

Text : 2 Kings 5:10 KJV

*And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.*

*Because a gift costs nothing, man tends to look down on it with disdain. But always remember that someone, somewhere paid for that which cost you nothing*

Naaman went to Israel to get a cure for his leprosy, but he went with his pride and sense of entitlement. 2 Kings 5: 9. *The reason many can't receive Jesus today is because of their pride and vain achievements.*

Jesus mentioned this in Math. 19:23, Then Jesus told his disciples, “I tell all of you with certainty, it will be hard for a rich person to get into the kingdom from heaven.

After Elijah had told Naaman what he must do to be cleansed, Naaman flew into a rage and left, telling himself, “Look! I thought he’s surely going to come out to me, stand still, call out in the name of the LORD his God, wave his hand over the infection, and cure the leprosy!’

Aren’t the Abana and Pharpar rivers in Damascus better than all of the water in Israel? Couldn’t I just bathe in them and become clean?” So he turned away and left, filled with anger. 2 Kings 5:11-12. IMAGINE SUCH ARROGANCE FROM A LEPER who needs help.

How many times have you gotten angry with your destiny helper?

How many times have you angrily and arrogantly left your divine portion just because you have issue with the packaging?

*Don't let pride and anger push you away from the one who has been destined to help you.*

Just like Naaman, many are walking about today with their leprosy of sin, yet they are refusing God's help just because of their ignorance mixed with arrogance. *It takes only the meek to receive the good tidings* . Isa. 61:1.

Well, we thank God for his servants that spoke sense into him.

But then his servant approached him and spoke with him. he said, “My father, had the prophet only asked of you something great, you would have done it, wouldn’t you? Yet he told you, ‘Bathe, and be clean…!’”2Ki 5:13.

*If the way to salvation had been rather complicated and extremely expensive, a number of the so called rich and affluential people would have embraced it and probably hoarded it.*

But thanks be to God, who hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;1Cor. 1:27.

*The message of salvation is so simple that the complicated in heart finds it difficult to receive it. The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.* *Psalm 119:130.*

Thank God Naaman listened to his servants. *God can speak through anybody. Be humble enough to listen and be wise enough to Obey God's instructions, every bit of it.*

Eventually, Naaman choose to obey God and he was made whole.

*Obedience is a choice. It's not about the simplicity of the instructions or its complexities, it's about your choice to obey.*

*Just obey Him even when it doesn't appeal to your common sense, God operates above the level of human senses.*

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
