CHECK YOUR FOUNDATION?

Text: 2Timothy 2:19

*Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.*

*Are you sure you are standing on God's foundation? It is very important that you are certain of what you are standing on.*

Foundation talks about the beginning of a thing, the underneath structure upon which the main structure sits on, the fundamental truth that supports the whole body or system of an entity.

Paul, talking about a foundation that is sure implies that there are many other foundations that are not sure. In fact, no other foundation is sure except God's. It is therefore very important that you are very sure of the foundation you are standing or building on.

Basically, everyone on the globe is certainly building on a foundation. The only clarification that needs to be made is: What type of foundation am I building upon-Sandy or Rocky Foundation? . Jesus however did not mince word about this clarification. He said:

_Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: Matthew 7:24 & 26_

From the above, Jesus mentioned the following:

*House* : You are the very house. All that you are doing with your life is a building. Be careful how you live, for you are building a house by the way you live.

*Rock:* This talks about the foundation you are building on. When you daily walk in obedience to Christ's sayings, you are building (living) on the rock. Hence, you will be unshakable and immovable.

*Sand:* This also talks about the foundation you are building on. When you constantly walk in disobedience to Christ's sayings, you are building (living) on the sand. Hence, you will be shakable and movable. Anyone walking contrary to the commands of Christ is not building his life on a rocky foundation.

*The Wise & the Foolish:* What qdetermines wether you are wise or foolish is not the house but the foundation that you are building on. For it is the foundation that supports the house and not the other way round. So, *If you are truly standing on Jesus, you will certainly keep His sayings and when you continue to keep His sayings: you are a wise person.* Jesus is the rock. He is the Truth and He is the sure foundation.

_For other *foundation* can no man lay than that is laid, which *is Jesus Christ* ._ 1 Corinthians 3:11

**Anyone who is not obeying (doing) the sayings of Jesus, no matter his title, position or claims of that one such is building only on a Sandy foundation* .

*Don't be deceived God's foundation (TRUTH) is FOREVER Certain and Sure.*

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
