Text : Mat 7:24 ISV
*“Therefore, everyone who listens to these messages of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on a rock.*
*No one loves to be addressed as 'foolish", yet the Bible clearly states that whoever refuses to do what he heard from the word is a fool.* .
So to be a wise man is to do what you hear from the word. And to be a foolish to hear but not do.
“Everyone who keeps on hearing these messages of mine and never puts them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.Mat 7:26.
Devil doesn't have problem with people going to the church. In fact, he has no problem with people hearing God's word, in as much as they remain as hearers only but never 'doers'.
*Those who hear God's word without practising same are not just regarded as fools but they are referred to as deceivers also.*
*But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.* James 1:22.
The worst firm of deception is self-deception. Are you wise man or are you simply deceiving your own self?
A Christian is a follower of Christ, in simple language, a follower of Christ is anyone who practices the word. Are you a 'word-practitioner?'
*The difference between a wise and a foolish man is in what they do and not just what they hear.*
As a matter of fact, according to Jesus'
explanation in this chapter, both the wise and the foolish heard the same thing, Matt. 7:24 & 26, and are faced with the same challenges. Matt. 7:25 & 27.
The distinguishing factor is in what they did with what they had.
While one hears and does what he heard, the other hears and refuses to do, he simply moved on like nothing happened.
Whether you practice what you've heard or not, you will face the rain, the flood and the wind of life. You will only remain standing if you have been grounded in what you heard.
