FREE LUNCH

Text : Gen 34:2.

*When Hamor the Hivite’s son Shechem, the regional leader, saw her, he grabbed her and raped her, humiliating her.*

In this life, nothing goes for nothing,  There's no free lunch anywhere. *Whatever comes to you as free,  has been paid for by someone, or you will pay for it later.*

Such was the case of  Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite. (Hamor was the ruler of the land). When Shechem saw Dinah, the daughter of Jacob, he took her. And he had sex with her by force.

What Shechem did, could easily be referred to as free lunch by the ignobles. Little did he know that it will not just cost him his life but it will exterminate his whole generation.

Shechem was a prince, and was regarded as the most important person in his father's household.

, Gen. 34:19. So he could have any lady of his choice in a legitimate manner. Why did he have to resolve to raping a girl?

His inability to exercise self control cost him and his lineage much more than he bargained for.

In the same vein, what the devil is dangling before you in the name of smartness or by simply cutting corners is not actually a free lunch it's a bait to truncate your destiny,  don't fall for it.

You are a child of the living God. A God that is committed to meeting all your needs. All He asked of you is Obedience to His words.  Don't settle for a free lunch because all things are yours.

*The only free gift opened to mankind is in Jesus Christ, to refuse this gift is to accept eternal condemnation.*

Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

 Rom 5:18 KJV.

Note that at times, free lunch may seem like blessing in disguise but it will always negate the principle of God's word. No matter how tempting it appears, receive the Grace to say NO.

*Beware of shortcut, it can cut life short. Beware of free lunch,  its cost may be more than you can afford.*

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Pray that God will give you the grace to reject any free lunch from the enemy.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
