BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD

TEXT:John 1:29

*The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.*

When John the Baptist saw Jesus coming to him for baptism, he publicly pointed people's attention to Him as the LAMB of God that takes away the sin of the world.

The Israelites are quite familiar with a four-legged LAMB but not a two-legged LAMB like JESUS. Unlike the regular lamb that only covers the sin of few people that could find their way to Jerusalem; Jesus is the LAMB that takes away the sin of the *whole* world once and for all. (Heb. 9:28, 10:10). John figuratively refer to Jesus as the lamb of God because He has come to the world to offer Himself as a sacrifice for the sin of man. Heb. 10:5-6

Jesus offered himself to take away the very Sin that enslaves humanity.

What Jesus achieved for us on the cross is the crucifixion of our old man, thereby rendering our body of sin inactive and ineffective of evil, that we might no longer be the slave of Sin. Romans 6:6.

*The singular problem of man as far as God is concerned is Sin. And that is the reason He gave out His precious lamb to deal with sin on the cross*

*Any help given to a man that does not lead him to the cross is no genuine Help. True and lasting help is to bring people to the cross, where they behold the lamb that takes their sin away* .

Two of John's disciples heard this statement made about Jesus as the LAMB, and they responded accordingly. They left their own master and followed the LAMB. John 1:37.

To receive eternal Help, you must be willing to change Lordship. Every man is under a lord(master). Sin is a type of lord which has enslaved man for ages till the arrival of the Lamb(our Lord Jesus Christ). Rom 6:16.

*No prophet under any acclaimed FAITH could provide antidote to the problem of SIN. Only Jesus did on the cross. Hence, salvation is found in no other except in Him alone* He is the only way to God.

_Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.Acts 4:12_

*To be alive unto God is to be free from Sin. And to be dead unto God is to be dead in Sin.*

Now, we have been delivered from Sin that we may freely serve the Lord.

If you are yet to depart from your master(sin) which Jesus dealt with on the cross, today is another opportunity to follow the LAMB. He will save and cleanse you from your sin. His blood cleanses from all sin. No matter how deep and dead you are in Sin, Jesus will save and make you whole.

".....and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin" 1 John 1:7

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Ask the Lord to open your eyes to see Jesus on the cross.

2. Pray for as many that are yet to receive Jesus as their Saviour and Lord that they will receive Him.

3.Pray that as we remember Jesus during this season, He will reveal Himself to many all over the world.

Bible Reading: 1John 1:6-10.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
