PUT OFF

Text : Col 3:8.

*But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.*

Every man is wearing garment in his soul, the difference is what a regeneratef man is wearing is or should be different from what an unregenerated wears.

As a matter of fact, when God looks at us, He sees us through these garments. Jesus mentioned some folks in Sardis who haven't soiled their garments.

*But you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me in white clothes because they are worthy.Rev 3:4.* These people are worthy because they did not defile their garments.

Again, He said Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.Rev 16:15.

So it is clear that a Christian is one that is clothed in garment which should not be soiled. Jesus is coming for a bride without wrinkle.

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.Eph 5:27.

However, to have a spotless bride with a spotless garment, you must have put off your old garment. New garment can not be put on old. No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.Mat 9:16.

Colossians 3:8 gives us an idea of what these old garment is all about. Obviously it's not our normal fabrics, but our adamic nature. These nature comes in different shades and sizes. That you are not wearing one now, doesn't mean you don't have it, it does means that you don't have need of it yet.

Some of us have clothes that we have not worn for a year or more, but whenever there's need for them, we just take them and wear. Now, the fact that they are not worn doesn't mean they don't exist in your wardrobe.

In the same way, some adamic nature, sinful nature may be inherent in you, albeit silently, but God will have you put them all off, as the light of the gospel is beaming on you.

*It is your responsibility to put off all the old garments resident in you with the help of the Holy Spirit, so you can be free to put on the new garment in Christ.*

*Put off therefore anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Col. 3:8*

*That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;Eph 4:22* .

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Father, open my eyes to every old garment I need to put off in my life.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

THE GREATEST

Text : Matthew 18:4   *Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.*   *Being the greatest in the kingdom is not about what you do but who you are.* Jesus pointed out here that little children are humble beings. Hence, what qualifies a person as the greatest in the kingdom of heaven is humility. Little children are both lowly and meek. These are qualities that does not come naturally to an adult. For instance, when you bring a little child from a wealthy background to live in a very poor home with another poor little child, he will gladly comply without any struggle. He will never complain or compare. He will simply adapt and gladly receive all the low and impoverished treatments. No adult or grown up child can accept this so easily.  That is the reason Jesus did not ask us to be converted and become as a child but ' *little child* '   _And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be co...
