FIGHT

Text : 1Tim 6:12.

*Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.*

This is the only fight you are permitted to engage in as a child of God -The good fight of faith. To fight is to contend as in conflict for something or someone.

This suggests that there is a conflict going on over you as far as your faith is concerned. Now, the fact that you are oblivious of this fight doesn't make it less of a fight, rather, it only makes you more vulnerable to be a prey.

Hence, the first step towards fighting a good fight of faith is knowledge:

First, you must know that you are in a fight.

Secondly, you must know how to equip yourself with the necessary weapons of war.

We are told in 2Cor. 10:4 & 5 that the weapons of our warfare are not those of the world. Instead, they have the power of God to demolish fortresses. We tear down arguments

and every proud obstacle that is raised against the knowledge of God, taking every thought captive in order to obey the Messiah.

From the aforementioned scriptures, we can clearly infer the followings:

1. That we are in a warfare.

2. Typical of anybody in warfare, we make use of weapons,

3. That we are not using worldly weapons because we are not fighting against flesh and blood. Eph. 6:12.

4. That what our (spiritual) weapon is targeting is

a. The pulling down of fortresses(strongholds).

b. Tearing down of arguments, dealing with wrong ideas that people think.

c. Pulling down high obstacles that stop people from knowing God. *Note that the target of these obstacles is to stop people from having the knowledge of God.*

d. Taking hold of every thought and bringing it to obey Christ.

It is clear that _all of our weapons has something to do with knowledge and our thought patterns_ . The moment your thought is captured, then, the man is captured. Because whoever rules your mind rules your life. Basically, a man is a summation of his thoughts - as a a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Prov. 26:7.

This is why the devil's greatest weapon is ignorance. Ignorance simply means darkness. When you are ignorant about something, you are in the dark about that thing. And this is why Jesus came to give us light, so we will not be in darkness (ignorance) anymore.

In him (In Jesus Christ) was life, and that life brought light to humanity.

And the light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness has never put it out. John 1:4-5.

This light comes by understanding. Pro 4:7 says Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Paul prayed for the Ephesian church that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: note

*The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. Eph. 1:17-18.*

The essence of the spirit of wisdom and revelation is so that the eyes of your understanding may be enlightened. It is only then that you will know what the hope of your calling is.

Again, He is saying to you today that in all your getting, get understanding. *You are only well positioned to Fight and to win when light comes to you, and when understanding floods your heart.*

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Lord, let your light dispel every darkness in me.

2. Father, please, flood my heart with the spirit of understanding and revelation.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
