CUT THAT ROPE

Text : Pro 3:5-6 ISV

*Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not depend on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.*

*A number of times, God commands you to do things that doesn't make sense to you, because your sense is too limited to contain the wisdom of God.*

The story was told of two Mountain climbers who for reasons best known to them were on the mountain at night during winter. Accidentally, the rope of one of them fell off from the rock, and he was left dangling in the air amidst rocks on a very snowy night.

When it was obvious that there was nothing else he could do, he decided to cry out to God for help. God responded to his cries and told him to cut the rope.

"Cut that rope" God told him each time he cried to Him, but the man responded loudly that " if I cut the rope, I will die."

For the very last time, he cried to God again, and God told him again to cut the rope, but his reasonings wouldn't make him trust the help of God. Instead, he shouted back at God that he would die if he cut the rope.

Well, he died eventually- not because he cut the rope, but because he refused to. By the morning when his partner located him, it was discovered that he was less than six feet to the ground. If he had cut the rope, he would have landed very safely.

The Psalmist says trust in the Lord with ALL YOUR HEART. To trust God with all your heart is to never think your understanding is enough. Do not lean on your understanding, because it's not in man to direct his steps. Jer. 10:33.

*_It is insulting and demeaning not to trust God, the maker of the heavens and the earth._* The best of the wisdom of man is still foolishness before God, for *the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness* .1Co 3:19.

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.1Co 1:25.

David, the man after God's heart says *It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.* Psa 118:-8-9.

Beloved, it is wisdom to go for that which is better.

Peradventure the Lord has been asking you to cut the rope you are holding so tightly to. Do not hesitate. The One who is talking to you is the only One who knows the end from the very beginning. *HE HAS BETTER PLANS FOR YOU, PLANS TO GIVE YOU AN EXPECTED END.*

Your own rope may be that relationship, business, friends, association, habits, whatever, just cut the rope, do not delay. The more you delay in cutting the rope, the more you delay your miracle. Go ahead and obey God and you will never be put to shame.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Lord, I'm sorry for trusting other things but you.

2. Help me to have unflinching trust in you Lord.

Bible Reading: Proverbs 3:1-35.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

WHEN GOD IS SILENT(2)

Text: Matthew 4:1  *Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.*  We saw yesterday that God was not pleased with many israelites that left Egypt for the promised land  (Corinthians 10:5).  A good percentage of the Israelites were overthrown in the wilderness.   Wilderness experience is not what any child of God desires, but it is an experience God sends or allows his children go through. In Deuteronomy 8:2, God says that He *LED* the Isrealites through the wilderness for forty years to humble them, to prove them, and to know what was in their heart whether they would keep his commandments or not.  Our Lord Jesus Christ was also *LED* into the wilderness by the Spirit of the Lord to be tempted by the devil. You will  notice there is a similar feature of the number *40(forty)* between these two wilderness experiences. That is, that of the Israelites and our Lord Jesus Christ. The Israelites spent 40years, Jesu...
