TOPIC: THE SPIRITUAL MAN

Text : Romans 8:6&7

 *For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.* 

Goats give birth to goats, Lions give birth to lions, Spirit give birth to spirits.

John 4:24 says God is a Spirit. So essentially, God's children are spirits too. At new birth, power was given to you to become a child of God. 

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:John 1:12.

The transliteration of the word *'become'* in John 1:12 above means to begin to be. That is, that verse can be rendered - "as many as received him, to them gave he power *to begin to be* sons of God. 

In other words, the end point of believers is to become sons of God. When you are God's son, then you are a spiritual Christian. 

A Spiritual Christian is anyone on a journey to becoming a son of God. To be successful on this journey, you have to yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit. 

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.Rom 8:14.

This is a status Jesus attained when God declared that this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased. Matt. 3:17.

 *The spiritual man is one who is characterized by the leading of the Holy Spirit.* 

The spiritual man produces the fruit of the Spirit.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things Galatians 5:22

Before a person becomes a Christian, Scripture calls them the natural man. They have no ability to worship or serve God. After salvation, a believer can choose to remain as a carnal Christian (which ultimately leads to death, Rom. 8:6) or he can choose to be led by the Spirit or be a spiritual man, which is life and peace. 

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.Joh 4:24. You cannot claim to be God's and choose to pay obeisance to flesh. 

 *That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.John 3:6.*

1. Pray for Grace to follow the leading of the Spirit.

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. DECEITFULNESS OF SIN 2

TEXT. Hebrews 3:13  *But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin* .  *While deceit is a sin, Sin itself is deceitful.* Sin has the capacity to lure a man to do stuffs. *One of the major vices of the devil is to make sin appear attractive and unharmfult.* If Eve could see what the consequences of eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil would be, she would have resisted the deception of the man of sin.
