STAY UNDER THE CLOUD

Text : Numbers 9:22

Or whether it were two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, remaining thereon, the children of Israel abode in their tents, and journeyed not: but when it was taken up, they journeyed .

A song writer renders it thus:

The cloud of glory is mov.....ing, let us move with the cloud, move with the cloud......_

I used to sing this song as a young believer but the import of the song came to me much later.

The Israelites never moved or journeyed from wherever they pitched their tent until the cloud moves. When the cloud stays, they stayed, when it moves, they move. Even if the cloud stays for 2days, the Israelites had to rest only for 2 days.

The cloud of glory upon the Israelites simply indicated God's presence with them. Hence, they can't joke with it. Always keeping a watch on this divine cloud upon their tents. They must keep their watch when at REST or on the MOVE.

They must surely have a team of people that have been charged with the responsibility of watching this cloud (especially at night). Imagine no one is keeping a watch at night and the cloud moves away while they were sleeping and snoring; they would have simply lost the presence of God. They would have been lost in the wilderness. The implication of loosing sight of the cloud is loosing God's presence.

Anyone that is not keeping a watch on God's presence in His or her life is likely to loose it?

And so it was, when the cloud abode from even unto the morning, and that the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed_ .Num. 9:21

As an individual or corporate body, It is important you keep your watch over the cloud of God's presence in and over your life. Israelites would have lost their direction into the promised land if they had allowed the cloud go off their sights.

You must set your gaze on the cloud. Jesus is the cloud but His Spirit within you is the one keeping watch for you. If you lose sight of the nudges and conviction of the Spirit, you will loose the cloud.

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

When your gaze is no longer on Jesus( cloud), you will lose your faith, and when you lose your faith, you can't enter into the promise land.

You keep your gaze on Jesus by constantly receiving the witness of the cloud observer in your heart.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: Romans 8:16

If the Israelites were not having a watchman who keeps watch for them, it is very certain, they would be engrossed in one activity or the other while the cloud would have moved.

Your duration on any project should be determined by the cloud.

Your stay in a location should be determined by the cloud.

We must allow the cloud determines our MOVEMENT.

May You not sleep off under a tent having no cloud presence.

No matter how glorious or beautiful the tent may look or appear, without the cloud of Glory over such tent, it is a disaster waiting to happen.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Ask the Lord for the Spirit of discernment in order to know whenever the cloud is moving.

2. Ask for the grace to be vigilant and watchful.

And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.(Mark 13:37).

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
