WHY ME?

Text : 1 Corinth. 10:13

*There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it* .

Sometimes you are tempted to join the wagon of people who often ask "Why Me Lord?"question. This is a rhetoric question we often do not receive an answer to either in the now or future. Joseph should have asked same question when his brothers sold him to the midianites(Gen

37:27-28). He would have had cause to question God: "Why me?" while Potiphar's wife lied on him and was thrown into the prison.

His question would have been answered after he was taken out of the prison and enthroned as the second in command to King Pharaoh in Egypt.

He went through all those rigorous, tough and rough experiences just to prepare him as a leader.

King David also had his own share of difficult times, while running from one city to another. His very arch enemy was the same King he helped to overcome the Nation's strongest enemy (Goliath).

The list is endless. Sarah, Rebekah, Manoah's wife, Hannah, Elizabeth-all were barren at some points in time until God came to their rescue. They all overcane the *Why Me Lord question* and came out with testimonies.

Almost all the people that had one victory or the other in the Bible are people that should have been cast down by *Why Me Lord Syndrome* . They turned the syndrome into *What Is In It For Me Lord!*

Maybe you are going through a challenging moment, hard times, temptations or assaults, as you read this devotional: you can simply receive the grace to turn to the Lord by simply asking " *What Is In It For Me Lord?"*

Any of the following could be the reason(s) for your "Why Me Lord situations":

1. *Revelation of the stuff you are made of* Spiritual strenght is measured in difficult times.Prov.24:10.

See the case of Paul and Silas in the prison in Acts 16:25. They saw "What Was In It For them" in the midst of "Why Me Lord Situations"

2. *Encouragement for others.* There are counsels that cannot be provided by any other except the person that has been through it. Hebrew 4:15.

3. *To give Glory to God: John 9:3* Don't truncate the process that leads to God's Glory.

*4. To chastise and Prune you because He loves you. Hebrew 12:7-9*

5. *To lift and promote you* Gen 45:5-7,Romans 8:32. Every examination is meant for promotion.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Father, help me to stay faithful at my duty post. awake and watchful in this perversed and adulterous generation.

Bible reading: Mark 13:27-37.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
