WHY ME (2)?

Text : 1 Corinth. 10:13 (NLT)

*The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.* .

Although God does not tempt, but He allows the tempter(devil) to tempt us. He however only allows you to be tempted according to the measure or limit of what you can bear.

When the tempter asked the Lord that he might tempt Peter, Jesus did not refrain Peter from the tempter, rather He prayed for him. Jesus prayed for Peter that hs faith would not fail afterwards.

“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat.

But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:31-32

The Devil will never tempt any child of God beyond the limit of his capacity or ability(the Grace he carries on the inside).

You must therefore know that the temptation and assault you are receiving from the devil is commensurate to the GRACE you carry.

Unlike the unbelievers who do not have an advocate(Jesus our Lord) to advocate and fight on their behalf, a child of God does. The devil has freedom and free access to tempt unbelievers beyond his measure but not a believer.

This is the reason Jesus asked us to pray: *And don’t let us yield to temptation.*_ ” Luke 11:4.

From our text, we can see that *the temptations in your life are no different from what others experienced.* The only difference is that you (as a believer) has a GOD who is faithful and will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand.

Even when you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure.

I want to say to you that you have what it takes to go through what you are going through right now. God knows you can stand it. He knows that the problem you are facing now is not bigger than you. You are made up of a stronger stuffs than the challenges before you. *Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world* (1John 4:4)

Stop asking "WHY ME" and start looking for the way of escape to endure the temptation.

The way of escape is not the way to run away from the temptation but the way to endure it. It is the way that keeps you from falling into and yielding to the temptation.

The devil's plan was to yank Perer off like he did with Judas Iscariot. But Peter came back; he bounced back and repented. He did not fall for the final expectation of the devil which is: outright fallen away from the Vine(Jesus)

Rise from wherever you are and start thanking God for your challenges.

 *Why Me?*

It is YOU because you are built for it!

It is YOU because God has provided a way of escape for you.

It is You because it is you!

 *You will surely overcome*

*Because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But you must let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.* James 1:3-4.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Father, I receive grace not to cave in into the temptations confronting me now.

2. Father help me that my faith will not fail in the face of temptation.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
