WHAT YOU HEAR

Text : Mar 4:24 ISV

*He went on to say to them, “Pay attention to what you’re hearing! You will be evaluated by the same standard with which you do your evaluating, and still more will be given to you,*

Let's do a simple biblical arithmetic.

1. Heb 11:6 says, Now without faith it is impossible to please God, *that is, to please God, you need faith.*

2. Rom 1:17 says For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, *The just shall live by faith.*That is, to live as a child of God, you need faith.*

3. Rom 10:17 says "so then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God". *That is, to please God, you need faith, to get life you need faith and to get faith, you need 'hearings'.*

Let me paraphrase verse 24… ‘Be careful what you listen to, hearing is receiving – so, the more you listen to something, the more you will receive.’ - In other words, what you listen to goes inside of you, and who you listen to will influence you. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing, and hearing the Word - in the same way deception comes by hearing, and hearing, and hearing error.

Jesus said that we need to be extremely careful about what we allow ourselves to continually hear – it matters who and what you are listening to! Do not allow yourself to sit under teachers (either worldly or Christian) who do not have an understanding of grace in Christ, the New Covenant, Who God is and how He does things.

*You may not be responsible for what people say but you are solely responsible for who you listen to. Pay attention to what you are hearing.*

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Ask the Lord to cleanse you of every poison you have taken either intentionally or otherwise.

2. Pray for increase appetite for the undiluted word of God.

Bible reading: Mark 4:21-25.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
