THE LABOURERS

Text : Mat 9:37 KJV

*Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;*

It's important for us to pay attention to Jesus' choice of words in this verse in regards to labourers.

Note that He didn't say the Pastors are few, or the teachers are few, or the Evangelists are few and so on. Rather He said the labourers are few.

So the question is " *Who is a labourer?"*

A labourer first and foremost must be a disciple of Christ.* Every assignment that has to do with the harvest were discussed with and given to the disciples. Matt. 9:37, Luke 10:1, John 4:35.

A labourer is anyone who can see what Jesus is seeing.* When Jesus saw the multitudes, He saw the harvest, and not just congregation or church members.

A labourer is someone who has a compassionate heart.* It takes compassion to see sinners as helpless, hopeless, destitute and without direction. While others may be seeing bankers, business man, scholars, teachers, lawyers etc, a labourer will see the people for who they truly are -sheep without shepherds. Matthew 9:36.

A labourer is someone who is ready to labour in recruiting more labourers.* He is not given to 'bigmanism', but his work is geared towards making more labourers of the people. Matt. 9:38.

In the natural, harvests don't just walk in by itself, the farmer-harvester, must get to the field to bring in the harvest. In the same way, to harvest souls unto eternal life, there's need for faithful labourers who will bring in the harvest.

 *ARE YOU A LABOURER?*

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Father, open my eyes to the ripe field that is white enough for harvest. John 4:35.

2. Lord, please give me a compassionate heart to be able to harvest my dying world unto eternal life.

Bible reading: Matthew 9;35-38. Luke10.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
