THE DAYS OF NOAH

Text : Luk 17:27 ISV

*People were eating, drinking, marrying, and being given in marriage right up to the day when Noah went into the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed all of them.*

One good advantage this generation has over Noah's is the record of the account of what happened to Noahic's generation. But one sad thing about this, is the fact that though history is repeating itself, yet many are not taking cognizance of it.

During the time of Noah, people were drinking, marrying and being given in marriage till the flood came and destroyed them all with the exception of Noah and his family.

Now, the question anyone should ask is, is it a sin to do any of the things mentioned above?

Did all the people of Noah's generation perished because they were doing the needful?

Obviously, the answer is 'NO'. God who created mouth knows we will eat. And it was God Himself who initiated the idea of marriage and He conducted and blessed the first marriage. Gen. 2:18-25.

So, the problem is not in what they did but how they did it. They had built a life around making a living in such a way that they edged God out of it. Man is not created so he can work for survival. God doesn't want man to live by bread but by every of His word. Deut. 8:3.

Before the first man was created, everything he would ever need to lead a comfortable life had been provided before he(man) came on the scene. This goes to show that man was not created to run after money, shelter, clothing or even marriage. _The only thing that is required from man is continuous fellowship with the Father._ Gen. 3:8.

*This survival mentality is devil's brainchild to keep man in a "rat-race", so he will not lift up his head to seek the Father* .

The year is still relatively young and yet many are already caught in the web of 'seeking for a living'. This was the same worldly pursuit that corrupted the generation of Noah and eventually led to their destruction.

Now, Jesus is giving out the same warning to us in this generation. He said, “That’s why I’m telling you to stop worrying about your life—what you will eat or what you will drink—or about your body—what you will wear. Life is more than food, isn’t it, and the body more than clothing?

Mat 6:25. He went further to give reason for His advice, He says, because it is the unbelievers who are eager for all those things. Surely your heavenly Father knows that you need all of them!

But first be concerned about God’s kingdom and his righteousness, and all of these things will be provided for you as well.Matt. 6:32-33.

Despite the warnings God sent to the people in the days of Noah about the impending doom, they all turned a deaf ear and continued in their wild goose chase. Today, God is sounding a great alarm *that this is the time of the great harvest of souls, before everything will be dissolved by fire.*

*I pray you will heed the warning and not turn a deaf ear. The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some people understand slowness, but is being patient with you. He does not want anyone to perish, but wants everyone to repent.* 2Pe 3:9 ISV.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Father, I break away from the survival mentality that is depriving me from seeing Jesus.

2. Jesus said, let him that has ears hear what the spirit is saying. Matthew 11:25. Pray that God will give you the ears to hear what He is saying at this time.

Bible reading: Luke 17:20-38.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
