REST FROM FEAR

Text : Matthew 11:28

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest* .

Let us look at one more feature that is evident in the life of anyone who is under labour and heavy laden.

*FEAR:* Every fear (except fear of the Lord)has its source from the devil and it does lead to death(physical and spiritual).

Jesus listed the fearful amongst those that will have their part in the lake of fire. (Rev 21 8). Fear is a TORMENTOR. It can literarilly kill a man. That is the reason the Lord or His angels will never declare a word to any man without first saying "Fear Not"

The shadow of death is actually the torment of FEAR. David said ".....though I walk through the *valley of the shadow of death* , I *will fear no evil..."* (Psalm 23:4). So, we can safely say that whenever one lives perpetually in fear, such is walking in the valley of the shadow of death. For you not to experience death (absence of God's life), you must stop living in fear. Even when you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, God wants you never to be afraid.

Fear and death are closely related. The moment you are able to come out from under this yoke of FEAR, death shall no longer have a grip over you. Fear of death is a bondage(Heb.2:14-15)

The Four Hebrew young men(Daniel, Meshach, Shedrach and Abednego) were fearless beings.

Though, Daniel knew the consequence of Praying within the time frame the King instructed that no one prays to any other gods(God)except the king, yet He prayed to the God of Heaven. He did not fear to be thrown into the den of lions because the Lion of the tribe of Judah already lives in Him. (Dan 6:7-10)

The three Hebrew men were also faced with a decision to either be thrown into burning fiery furnace or bow before an the King's image. Those guys were too bold. They were not mindful of the fire. Surprisingly, they were not even mindful of God's deliverance. So what were they mindful of? The FEAR OF GOD! They were only mindful of pleasing the Lord and none other. Their minds were full of God's fear to the point that they had No space in their hearts to fear anything else. (Daniel 3:16-18)

You see, the moment you're filled with the FEAR of God, you will never fear anything on this side of eternity again. God's plan is that you will fear Him and Him alone. At no point in time did GOD's word commands us to fear the devil or evil.

David said "I will fear No Evil" No wonder he killed a lion and bear just for the sake of mere sheep.(1Sam 17:34-36). How many shepherds of men today will run away and allow their sheep(members)to be wasted by the onslaught of evil. Well those are hirelngs and not shepherds(John 10:12-13). David faced the fearful and gruesome looking Goliath without fear in His heart. All these, he did as a teenager.

O that God will give us a bold heart like that of David to boldly declare:

So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge! Interlude_

(Psalm 46:2-3)

Why did they not fear?

              Because...

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble._

(Psalms 46:1)

Halleluyah!!! Glory yo God

I fear No Fear!

I doubt my Doubt!

I believe my God!
