REDEEMING THE TIME

Text : Ephesians 5:16

 *Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.* 

The scripture has described the days we live in as evil days.It is such a difficult and perilous time.Hence, the need to redeem the time.

The word redeem means: _by payment of a price to recover from the power of another, to ransom, buy off_ Redeeming the time therefore, is to buy off the present times from evil days (and from the power of the devil). Since time cannot be rewind or re-use, we can only make the most use of the opportunity it offers. While time is an unrenewable resource, it also offers you the singular opportunity to invest in eternity.

Another reason the days are evil is becauae the devil is working round the clock to cause the fall of many and take them along with him to lake of fire. Devil understands the shortness of TIME. *".......for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.* Revelation 12:12.

The moment a *_timeless being_* - (Devil) came into Time, the days of man on earth become evil days. Consequently, every child of God must _BUY OFF_ time to create Eternal life in ETERNITY for themselves. Devil's plan is to ensure that you will not taste what he lost while he was in eternity (heaven) with God. 

As a believer, you are

therefore instructed according to Ephesians 5:17-18:

1.....Do not be foolish, 

2......Understand what the will of the Lord is.

3.....And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, 

4......But be filled with the Spirit,

When you observe the above points stated in Ephesians, you will be _*REDEEMING the time in evil days*_ .

 *PRAYER FOCUS* 

1. Father, take away every form of foolishness from me and help me to be wise in Jesus name. 

2. Father, give me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of your will in Jesus name. 

3. Father, fill me with your Spirit in Jesus name.

PRAYING MEN

Text : 1Timothy 2:8. I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. God gave explicit instructions to all of His children as to how we must live our lives. Some of these instructions cut across boards, of which all of God's children must obey. However, there are some instructions that are specific to gender or portfolios. We we'll be looking at some of these instructions today.  *THE MEN* From our text, there are two distinct responsibilities God wants men to undertake, and the two are intertwined. First, God wants men to pray. The word  'men' as used in our text is not generic as to mean all human beings. It is specifically requesting that all men should pray. Yes, God expects every of His children to pray, but He specifically called men out here.  A number of times,  when prayer meetings are called, the proportion of women in attendance always outnumbered men. This is because the devil knows the import of praying men.

Text: 1 Kings 19:12 "...and after the earthquake a fire, [but] the LORD [was] not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice" Prophet Elijah fled after he received the life threatening message from Jezebel, the wife of King Ahab, because he didn't keep himself calm before the Lord.  *Endeavouring to listen to God in difficult times is a major prerequisite to your deliverance.*  Are you faced with a life threatening situation like Prophet Elijah, the first and most important thing you need to do is: "Set yourself before the Lord for His still small voice."  *"You will be saved from many unwarranted troubles if only you will always maintain your calm before the Lord and listen to Him."*  After Prophet Elijah heard the still small voice, then the Lord asked him, "What are you doing here?"
