FRESH START

Text : Isaiah 43:19

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

 *HAPPY NEW YEAR!* 

I pray that this year will speak so much volumes of God's mercies and Faithfulness in your life and family (Amen).

Christians all over the globe gathered and prayed into this year with great expectations and new resolves. They hope for new things in their lives. Hopes and Faith are high during the cross over night. Now, God has presented you with a new 365 days of open cheque, it is now your responsibility to carefully fill the cheque.

While God is ready to do a new thing in this new year, He would like you to cooperate in the following ways:

1. Remember NOT the PAST: The first thing God would like you to do is: “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Isaiah 43:18. Yes, it can be difficult to rob off your memories of the past failures and disappointments, but God wants you to forget all of these in view of what He is about to do in your life. 

2. *Embrace the future with great expectation* : The future you saw last year is right before you today. God wants you to engage yourself on a high expectation mode. Hope for the very best this year. Do not allow your past destroys your present.(the future you saw in the year(s) past is with you today. 

The Lord is announcing to you to BEHOLD(see), the new thing He is doing. He is not going to do new a thing, but He is already in the very process of new thing. What you need do is to BEHOLD it. Open your eyes and mind to see the new thing God is already doing in your life.

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?......(ESV)

Your expectation is one thing that will help you perceive the new thing God is doing. Once you see it with your inner eyes, then it is yours.

 *As you EXPECT great things this year, I also want to encourage you to ATTEMPT great things this year.* 

 *Prayer focus:* 

*Pray that God will open your eyes to see the new thing He is, doing in your life. 

*Pray that ways be made for you even in the wilderness this year 2021.

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. HIS VOICE- 2

Text : John 10:3. To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. We established yesterday that one thing you can't joke with as a true follower of Christ is *His Voice.* You must recognise and hearken to (obey) His voice. It is in doing this that your safety is assured.  Today, we want to see another responsibility of the Shepherd over His sheep.  To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, *and leads them out.* John 10:3.  He called you, that He might lead you. It is not enough for you to hear or recognise His Voice, you must allow Him to lead you as well.  Romans 8:14 says *For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.*   The Spirit leading you determines the family you belong to.
