STEPS TO FINISHING STRONG

Text : Ecc 7:8

Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

Undoubtedly, many are earnestly preparing for 2021. Great as that idea may be, I need to remind you that we still have 3 days to go in 2020. Prepare yourself for the better part of this year. A lot can still happen in three days if only you will position your mind for it. So here are few steps to finishing strong not just in 2020 but in everything you set to do:

1.) *Have self control;* Constantly put yourself under check. Anyone who desires to go far in life must learn to put his body under. 'But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.'1Co 9:27.

2.) *Don't settle in your best*; One key to greater exploit is to never get satisfied with your latest achievement. Always reach forth to things ahead Phil. 3:13.

3.) *Push Forward*; Don't wait to be pushed, push yourself forward. Phil. 3:10-13.

4.) *Don't praise yourself :* It is more honorable to let others praise you than you blowing your own trumpet. And even at that, learn to give all the Glory to God. Prov. 27:2.

5.) *Don't complain;* This is a golden rule. Do all things without murmurings and disputings:Phi 2:14.

6.) *Have Faith in God:* Faith in God will help you please God. It will help you accomplish great things. It will help you move mountains. Mark 11:22-24.

7) *Set your gaze on Jesus*:.always set your eyes on Jesus. Heb. 12:2.

Bible reading: 2 Cor. 6: 1-18.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
