DIVORCE 2

Text : Matthew 19:6

So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, man must never separate.”

A number of the so called high and mighty in the Christendom today,  are now engaging in the very act of divorce or are teaching people that it's better to divorce than stay in a marriage that is not working.

No matter how much their argument appeals to common sense, it still goes against the instructions of God.

Jesus Christ, our perfect example told us that Moses told them of the Old Testament to give a bill of divorce to their partners simply because of the hardness of their hearts.  But He immediately concluded  by saying that "from the beginning it was not so." Matthew 19:6-7.

So why would you indulge in what was not the intention and will of God for your life?  As a matter of fact,  why would you engage in what God hates?

The best way to avoid divorce is actually before you say *'I do'*. Before you tie the knot,  see to it that you are in the will of God.

On different occasions,  when I have the privilege of counseling people who are facing real life issues in their marriages,  after listening to some of the unprintable dilemmas some of them were facing. Out of compassion or pity,  I always feel like having the power to licence them to opt out of the marriage. But, I  know God's stand on this matter. Hence, we always trust God to bring about a turn-around in their Union. And He sure does.

However,  it is better to be safe than sorry.  If you are single, I congratulate you! This is the time to take the word of God in 2 Cor. 6:14 very serious.  *Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?*

And if you are married,  and there seems to be turbulence in the boat of your marriage,  today,  the one who instituted marriage,  The God of peace Himself is speaking His PEACE into your home. (Amen)

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
