BELIEVING IN THE FACE OF FEAR

Text* :Mark 5:36

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe._

Jesus told Jairus not to be afraid but only Believe. Jesus is still uttering the same statement to you today: *Fear Not, only Believe*

With all the happenings all around you, your failing health, loss of job and investment,  debts, effects of the pandemic on your business, and so on. The tendency for fear and  panic is very high. But in all, we must not allow fear in our hearts, for fear is a tormentor.

From Mark 5 record, Jairus beckoned on Jesus to come help heal his child who is at the point of death. On their way to Jairus' house, bad news came to Jairus that  his daughter had died. Jesus heard this and quickly interrupted the Bad news even before Jairus could profess it, " *Fear Not, Only Believe* "

Jesus knew that there is tendency for Jairus to be afraid. In the same vein, we also stand the chance of being fearful in the midst of all the challenges confronting us today. But Jesus is calling on you to Only Believe Him at this time.

The presence of Jesus may not  always shield us from facing adversity, but it always delivers us from all troubles and adversity._

*Psalms 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.*

This time, we must know that our Lord is with us And He will always come through for us come what may. We are right in the hollow of His hands.

*Though Jesus is with us but we have the responsibility to BELIEVE HIM and not to exercise Fear.*

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
