RESTING IN HIS WORD

Text :  Luke  1:38

And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her._

The same angel(Gabriel) the Lord sent ro Zechariah was also sent to Mary. An ordinary girl (Mary)easily accepted and rested in God's words but not the Priest.(Zecharias).

Mary responded from a simple heart of Faith: BE IT UNTO ME *_ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD.* How the Lord long to hear same from many of His children today.

This is a simple heart of belief in a the good news. It is however strange how Zecharias, the Priest(Who stands in the gap between God and man) cannot believe God for a child. He must have read about how God gave Abraham and Sarah children. But Mary had never heard about how a virgin could become pregnant without any contact with a man, yet she believed.

Our God is not so moved by your religious practices as much as He is moved by our Faith in His words.

We must learn to rest in His Word by simply plunging in with a simple heart of Faith.

We will not know what Rest is, until we come to Him in and by Faith.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  The promise we have from our Lord is REST! Matthew 11:28-29.

To come into this rest, we must:

1. *Come to Him by Faith* .

For he that comes to Him must believe that He is, and He's a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6.

2. *Take up His yoke upon you,*

The yoke of Jesus is unlike the yoke the world is placing on you. It is an easy yoke of simply obeying His commands.

3. *Learn of me* ;

for I am meek and lowly in heart:

Jesus is asking us to follow in His steps of meekness and humility. It takes humility and meekness for you to accept and believe God's word. Mathew 11:27-30

*When you follow the above, you  shall find rest unto your souls.*

Bible reading: Luke 1:1-38.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

THE GREATEST

Text : Matthew 18:4   *Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.*   *Being the greatest in the kingdom is not about what you do but who you are.* Jesus pointed out here that little children are humble beings. Hence, what qualifies a person as the greatest in the kingdom of heaven is humility. Little children are both lowly and meek. These are qualities that does not come naturally to an adult. For instance, when you bring a little child from a wealthy background to live in a very poor home with another poor little child, he will gladly comply without any struggle. He will never complain or compare. He will simply adapt and gladly receive all the low and impoverished treatments. No adult or grown up child can accept this so easily.  That is the reason Jesus did not ask us to be converted and become as a child but ' *little child* '   _And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be co...
