DON'T BE IGNORANT

Text :  2Co 2:11

Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices .

A number of times, people call the devil names like 'foolish' or 'stupid'. Yes, the devil may be a liar, he  may be evil, wicked and every thing bad but he is not stupid. As a matter of fact he is wise,  that is why we are told to be as wise as serpent.

"Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."Mat 10:16.

The word "wise" in this verse means to be intelligent. That is, the devil is intelligent (howbeit in a bad sense).

So it is dangerous to have a wrong conception of your archenemy. We are enjoined not to be ignorant of the devices of the devil. This statement implies two things:

1. There is a possibility that you can be ignorant of the devil's devices. It is often said that ignorance is never an excuse anywhere. Yet many are being plagued left, right, center by the devil's manipulations but they are totally unaware of it.

That you are unaware of the fact that you are in a battle doesn't make the battle less fierce, it only makes you more vulnerable to losing the battle.  In all you do GET UNDERSTANDING. Proverbs 4:7.

May God give you sight to see the manipulations of the enemy in your life so you can be rightly positioned for victory.

2. Devil has devices. The second and equally important thing you must note is that the devil has devices.  Note that the Bible didn't say '.device'-singular, rather it says 'devices'- plural. That is,  if you win him in one device,  he may come using another.

May you receive the Grace to overcome the enemy on all fronts in Jesus name.

One of the definitions of 'device' says "it is a project or scheme, often designed to deceive." So when the bible told us not to be ignorant of the devil's devices, it's simply saying you should not be ignorant of the schemes of the devil.

*I put to naught every project and scheme of the devil in your life in Jesus name.*

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
