ASSIGNMENT

Text :  1Samuel 9:3 ISV

The donkeys belonging to Kish, Saul’s father, were lost, and Kish told his son Saul, “Take one of the young men with you, get up, and go look for the donkeys.”

When Kish the father of Saul sent him(Saul) on an assignment of finding his lost donkeys,  little did he know that it was a divine assignment.

A number of times when God intends to give a divine assignment to His children, He does not announce it ahead of time, He only expects you to carry out the seemingly mundane assignments given to you by men. In doing this,  He will launch you into your divine destiny.

At a time, God wanted to launch David (of the Bible) into His divine assignment. To do this, David had to defeat and kill Goliath.  Yet, God didn't come down from heaven or at least reveal this instruction to him in a dream. Instead,  He simply made his father (David's father) to send him on an errand to his elder brothers at the battle front. 1 Samuel 17.

If David had refused to run this errand,  he would have missed his divine timing.

The list is endless of people who carry out assignments given to them by man only to later discover that God only use the assignment as a platform to lead them to their divine purpose and destiny.

We are told of the widow of Zarephath who obeyed the instructions of the man of God 1 Kings. 17.

We are told of Joseph in Gen. 37.

We are told of the two sons of Zebedee whom Jesus called while they were fishing with their father.  We can go on and on.

This goes to say that if you are too big to run errands for men whom you see,  then, you are not be qualified to be trusted with divine assignment from God whom you have not seen.

*Don't look down on that assignment, it may be a platform designed to launch you into the purpose of God for your life.*

Bible reading: 1 Samuel 9:1-27.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

THE GREATEST

Text : Matthew 18:4   *Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.*   *Being the greatest in the kingdom is not about what you do but who you are.* Jesus pointed out here that little children are humble beings. Hence, what qualifies a person as the greatest in the kingdom of heaven is humility. Little children are both lowly and meek. These are qualities that does not come naturally to an adult. For instance, when you bring a little child from a wealthy background to live in a very poor home with another poor little child, he will gladly comply without any struggle. He will never complain or compare. He will simply adapt and gladly receive all the low and impoverished treatments. No adult or grown up child can accept this so easily.  That is the reason Jesus did not ask us to be converted and become as a child but ' *little child* '   _And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be co...
