LOSE YOUR LIFE(1)

Text :Mark 8:35

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it._

If you critically consider this statement made by Jesus, you will realise that man generally does not like to lose his life. We have a life that is contrary to the  kind of life God wanted us to live. Since the fall of man in the garden of Eden, man has been living a life that is contrary to that of God(Gen. 6:5-6).

After the fall, man now live from the realm of the soul and not from their spirit. This is because man died on the very day he ate the forbidden  fruit.(Gen 2:17).

The soulish life is what Jesus has come to terminate. Jesus came to give us the Life of God (zoe) so that we can loose the soulish life(psuche).

Jesus said "....I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly"(John 10:10). The *life* referred to here is the life of God. Many has been misinterpreting this verse to mean all kinds of things. What Jesus promised us in John 10:10 is primarily God's LIFE. He did not come to give man more money or silver and Gold(man already had plenty of that before Jesus came).

You must know that Jesus did not come to HELP your(soulish) life, He came to terminate it and to start you on the new life(of God). That is the reason He is saying to us in Mark 8:35 that we should lose our life so we can gain it.

If you don't lose your soulish life, you will eventually loose it in eternal perdition.

Your soulish life only wants to live for lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life. This soulish life only wants to live for the present. The soulish life does not like to go deeper with God. He only believes what he can see, feel, taste, touch  and smell(senses). The soulish life is a life lived within your senses. It is  a life that is free from the rule and authority of God. The soulish life is indeed the prodigal son. He likes to live away from God-he does his own thing the way he likes. The soulish life loves and lives for himself. The soulish life can even be a church goer but only serve God at his own terms and conditions. The soulish life always wants to be the king. He likes to always take the driver seat.  He does not want the life of God at all. He has not been under the rule of any other since the fall of man.

Our saviour came and He never lived from this soulish life, but from zoe life. He never allowed the soulish life to rule him. Jesus took the rule from the soulish life.

Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. John 10:17-18

You must lose life to gain LIFE!

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
