HOPE

Text : 1 Corinthians 15:19

If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable_ .

The word "Hope" simply means expectation. It is the expectation  that something will happen in the nearest future. You cannot say that you believe when you don't have hope. Hope is the very bedrock of faith.

From our text, we can see that every child of God has a hope both in this world and that to come. If in this life "only" means that we also have

hope in this present life we are in. Most importantly, God's word assured us that we have hope hereafter. Our hope however is in Christ. Hence, we have a living hope and not a dead hope.

A living hope is the hope that brings you into the very tangible and  enduring promises of God. A living hope is what we should live for. Christ in you is the hope of Glory(1Timothy 1:1, Colossians 1:27). Any hope which only brings perishable and temporal things in this world is a DEAD hope. Dead hope is only centered around what  this world can offer.

The truth is: anyone without Christ is a hopeless being. That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:Ephesians  2:12

I want you to know that as a child of God, you are living for a hope that transcends this present time. It is the hope of salvation(deliverance from  corruption, death, sin and devil). We live for the hope of eternal life. (Titus 1:2, 3:7)

Be of good cheer, your tommorrow is good. Christ is your yesterday, today and tommorrow. He is worth living for. He is worth depending on. He will come through for you. He will not allow you to be put to shame. When all hopes are gone, He will be your very Hope.

CHRIST IS OUR SURE HOPE.

*I dare you to trust Him once again. Again and again, let your hope be anchored on His unfailing Love.*

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
