THE STONY-PLACED BELIEVERS

Text : Luk 8:11, Mat. 13:20.

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

The Stony- placed Christians are so easily identified. :

1. *They are hearers* Just like the Road side believers,  the stony-placed believers are hearers of the word.

2. *They are easily excited* They always receive the word with joy.  They are always catching one revelation or the other.  They seem to have some levels of understanding, but their understanding is always so shallow.

3. *They have no root* Because of their shallow understanding and lack of root, their joy and excitement about the word is always short-lived.

4. *They always stumble*  Tribulation and persecution will always visit everyone who has the seed of the word in him. However,  because the stony-placed believers have no depth in them,  they are easily offended, and they will fall away.

Pro 24:10 says,  If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. The day of adversity will surely come, but your depth in Him will determine your strength.

It is not enough to be excited at the word of God,  you must be rooted and grounded in His love for you to gain understanding of His will.

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,Eph 3:17 KJV

 No Stony-placed believers produces fruit of righteousness.

 *Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord* . Col 3:16 KJV

Bible reading: Matthew 13:1-23.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
