PRAY CONTINUALLY

Text : 1Th 5:17. Luke 18:1

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint_ ;

 *_Pray without ceasing_ .*

This is one command given to us as believers. Many have excused it out that it is not humanly possible to pray at all times, but God will never tell us to do what you don't have capacity to do.

You can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth you. Phi 4:13.

Jesus said in Luke 18:1 that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; That is,  men(man and woman)  ought to *PRAY ALWAYS*. When you desist from praying, then,  you start to faint, you start to give up or lose heart.

To this end,  He gave a parable to buttress His point. Permit me to point out some obvious from this parable.

1. The woman was appealing to a judge with these two prominent character:

(a)  He has no fear of God.

(b)  He has no regard for men.

These are the exact opposite of who God is.

Our God is a Just God.  Deuteronomy 32:4. And  He is a compassionate God who is always mindful of humans- "What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?".Psa 8:4 .

2. She wouldn't stop appealing nonetheless. The woman got answer to her request not because the unjust Judge had repented, but because she wouldn't give up. Though she knew the Judge was unjust, yet she wouldn't stop demanding for her right.

Jesus used a very terrible personality in comparison to God in order to prove a principle to us in prayer. *THE PRINCIPLE OF CONSISTENCY*

If consistency works for an unjust Judge, how much more our loving God.

You do not receive because you gave up.  *PRAY WITHOUT CEASING*

*DON'T WAIT TILL YOU ARE IN DIFFICULT SITUATION BEFORE YOU START PRAYING, THEN PRAYING COULD BE DIFFICULT. LEARN TO PRAY AHEAD OF SITUATION. AND DO IT AT ALL TIMES.*

Bible reading: Luke 18:1-8.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
