LITTLE FAITH-DOUBT

Text:  Matthew 14:31

And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Any time Jesus mentioned little faith in the bible, He is simply referring to any action that makes faith impotent or inactive.

We shall be looking at some of the factors that could make your faith inactive or impotent. Today we shall be considering Little Faith created by *DOUBT*

Peter broke the record! He was the first man that walked on water(other than Jesus).

".....when Peter was come down out of the ship, *he walked on the  water, to go to Jesus* " Matthew 14:29

I could imagine how excited he would have been walking on water. Somewhere in his heart, he would be thinking himself as a superman. As he was breaking the record, he suddenly lost sight on Jesus. He got distracted by the  boisterous wind. This was not just a mere distraction but a fearful one. This made him to doubt.

Doubt got its origin from the root word "Twice" I can therefore say that DOUBT means thinking twice. When you give the word of God double thoughts in its possibility and potency. That is doubt. When you waiver at the word of God, that is doubt. Peter doubted becasue of the boisterous wind and he began to sink.

But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.(Matthew 14:30).

Have you received a word from God, and you are beginning to doubt because of the circumstances around you? Jesus is asking you today, why did you doubt? The resultant effect of doubt is sinking.

No man doubts God and receive anything from Him. For let not that man thinks that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.James 1:7

If you will cry out to God today, He will save you from the sinking situation you have found yourself.  Peter cried out to Jesus to save him from his predicament and immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him. Matthew 14:30-31.

*JESUS WILL ALSO SAVE YOU TODAY IF YOU CAN CRY OUT TO HIM.*

Bible reading: Mathew 14:24-32.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
