GOOD NAME

Text:  Proverbs 22:1

A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches. and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

The person who gave this submission was king Solomon, the richest king that ever lived(before Jesus came in person).

This was a man who knew what riches was. He was so rich that there was nothing his heart desired that he couldn't get. "Whenever I wanted something I had seen, I never refused that desire. Instead, I enjoyed everything I did, and this became the reward in what I had undertaken." Eccl. 2:11.

Solomon was not just rich, it was recorded about him that he was the wisest man (outside Jesus) that ever lived. Now, he is giving a word of admonition that you should rather chose "good name" over riches.

Good names go beyond your first or last names but your reputation. Your reputation is what you are known for,  and what you are known for is your *real name.*

The only thing that will outlive you is your reputation. Now your reputation can either be good or bad. Your lifetime is given to you to determine your reputation. While men refer to your earthly conducts as your reputation, heaven is looking at it as your work...

Rev 22:12 "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his *work* shall be."

Every man's *work* shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's *work* of what sort it is.1Co 3:13 KJV.

Stop labouring for riches and wealth which will pass away, but rather chose to follow the path of righteousness which will not only profit you here on earth but in the hereafter.

*Do not work for food that perishes but for food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set his seal on him.”John 6:27*

*A GOOD NAME IS BETTER THAN GREAT RICHES*

Bible reading: John 6:25-71.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
