ARE YOU A LEARNER?

Text : Mat 11:29

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Jesus gave an open invitation in Matthew 11:28  to everyone. "Come unto me , all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest"

This invitation is to anyone who realised that:

1. He is labouring.

2. He is heavy laden.

3. He needs rest.

The truth is that not everyone who is labouring realised it, and not all who realised it are ready to receive REST. but whoever wants rest should come to Jesus.

The moment you get to Jesus, He will give you Rest.  But for you to progressively experience the Rest,  you have some roles to play. Note that it is not everyone that receives the Rest (that Jesus gave)at Salvation point are still living in His Rest years later.

To keep and maintain His Rest,  you must do these two things :

1. *Take His yoke upon you.* Let no one deceives you, Jesus gives His followers Yoke.  Any Christian that refuses to take the yoke of Christ will automatically take the yoke of this world, which is the yoke of satan. Eph 2:2, John 12:31.

Jesus' yoke is easy and His burden is light.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.Mat 11:30 KJV. Without His yoke you have no constraints in living in sin. That is why many who profess to be Christians are still freely living a life of sin- They lack constraints, they are without the yoke of Christ.

Your success as a child of God is directly dependent on how readily you take the yoke of Christ upon you.

2. Learn of Him.  The second prerequisite Jesus gave to finding Rest to your soul is to learn of Him.  Take my yoke upon you, *and learn of me;* for I am meek and lowly in heart: *and ye shall find rest unto your souls.*

Mat 11:29 KJV

To learn of Him is to become like Him. To have His kind of mind.  'Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:'Phi 2:5. To have the mind of Christ, *you must be a learner*

No learning or training is palatable, even our master learnt through suffering. Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; Heb,  5:8.

Jesus Christ remains our perfect example. The Author and perfecter of our faith. Heb. 12:2. If He learnt,  you have to learn.

*It's high time you enrolled into the school of the Spirit and be ready to learn and unlearn,  then,  can you be counted among the Saints.*

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
