THE NAME OF JESUS

Text:John  14:13

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son_ .

The name of Jesus is not an ordinary name. It is the name that is full of Power and Grace. It works all the time.

The name of Jesus is our code and password to accessing solutions and answers. When you ask and receive in that name,  God is glorified in Jesus.

My prayer for you today is that His name will not be impotent on your lips in Jesus name.

Jesus who is not a liar says to us that whatsoever you ASK in His name you shall RECEIVE.  The question for many therefore is: Why have I been asking and I don't receive?

These are the key points you must take note of:

1. Do not call His name in Vain : We must learn not to call the name in vain. That is, calling it without any expectation, in a disdain or demeaning manner(Exodus 20:7).

Some joke with that name. People are now so much In a hurry to type the full name, they simply write "IJN"(In Jesus Name) at the end of their prayers or in response to prayer. If you are asked to supply a password to receive a parcel, do you just abbreviate the password? You can be sure the password won't work that way.

The effect of calling His name in vain can be explained by the Sons of Sceva when they wanted to cast out demons in Acts 19:13-16.

2. Call the name in Faith.(Acts 3:16): Whenever you call that name, you must put your faith in it. You must expect result when you call the name. Wether you shout it or say it silently, it always works.

3. Keep Your Vessel Pure:  .....And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity (2 Timothy  2:19). We must see to it that we keep our mouth from speaking iniquity.

Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?(James 3:9-11)

If you do all these, the name will ALWAYS attend to you.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
