IN THE DAYS OF YOUR YOUTH

Text: Ecclesiastes 12:1

_Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth: Before the days of evil come,  and the years approach when you will say,  "I have no delight in them_

There are so many schools of thought to the classification of who a youth is. And my duty is not to define who a youth is.  But if you still have strength in you,  then you are a youth, because Proverbs 20:29 says the glory of the youth is their strength.

What is required of you now in the days of your youth:

1. Be intentional: The first word in our text says  'Remember'. You are enjoined to remember because there's high tendency that you will forget. People only remember they were young when they are old. If you wait till that time before you remember your Creator, you will only be filled with regrets.

One salient truth about your youthful time is, YOU CAN ONLY BE YOUNG ONCE. Because the devil understands this truth,  he specializes in helping youths to waste their time,  their strength and their youthfulness.

Isaiah 40:30 says even youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly. That is, the strength you hold so dearly today will gradually diminish and eventually vanish. But the good news is that those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles,  they shall run and not be weary,  they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31.

Again, the good news for you who thinks you have long passed the days of your youth is that the invitation to wait on the Lord is open to all regardless of age. He can yet renew your youth.

2. Do it now : For emphasis sake,  the next word in our text says 'NOW'. I pray the Lord will give you grace not to waste your NOW.  What you are expected to do now, don't push it to tomorrow, because tomorrow might be too late. Don't cooperate with the devil to waste your NOW.  Your NOW is a free gift of God to you,  don't waste it.

*Behold,  now is the accepted time: behold, now is the day of salvation* 2 Corinthians 6:2.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
