HIS PLEASURE

Text: Revelation 4:11

Thou at worthy oh Lord, to receive glory, honour and power, for thou hath created all things and for thy pleasure, they are and were created.

All things were made by Jesus and without Him was not anything made that was made. John 1:3.

All things (yourself inclusive) were not just created by Jesus, they were created for Him.

If you have been wondering why you were created, or what exactly your primary purpose was. Well, here is the answer. YOU WERE CREATED TO BRING HIM PLEASURE.

God said concerning Jesus in Matthew 3:17 that He is a Son that brings the Father much pleasure. Matthew 17:5. This is exactly what God is looking for in you - Pleasure.

Why is it difficult for men to give God pleasure?

1. Pleasure of sin. The reason people are so attached to their sins is because sin has pleasure.  The bait of sin is the pleasure, but the end of sin is death.  The wages of sin is death,  but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23.

2. Because Men are lovers of pleasure. God wants our lives to bring Him pleasure,  but men(fallen man) have turned away from God to become lovers of themselves. This is one of the signs of the end time.  2Timothy 3:4. Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.

To please the father or to bring pleasure to the Father,  you must note these two things :

1. Have faith in God : Hebrews 11:6 says empathically that without faith, it is impossible to please God. Because he that comes to God must believe that He is,  and He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

This faith is a total trust and reliance on God.

2. Quit walking in the flesh.  It's so clear from Romans 8:8 that they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit if the Spirit of God is in you.

*We are unto God a sweet  smelling savour of Christ. 2 Corinthians 2:15, Ephesians 5:2. *Let your life bring out a beautiful fragrance unto our God*

Bible reading: John 1:1-18.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
