GRATITUDE

Texts: Luke 17:15-16.

But one of them, seeing that he was healed,  returned and  with a loud voice, gave glory to God. He fell facedown at His feet, thanking Him. And he was a  Samaritan .

Gratitude (thankfulness) is an attitude that you must intentionally cultivate.

We live in a world where all the good virtues and morals is fast eroding, in fact, it is a common slogan that an average African does not know how to say "thank you ". But if I may add,  ingratitude  is not just an African fever, it's a disease that has been battling with humanity from time immemorial, and this menace has eaten deep into the fabric of human race.

This explains the scenario we read about in our text.  Before I go any further,  I would like to encourage you to read all the Bible reference attached in this devotion.

The story in our text introduced us to ten lepers who out of despair  cried out to Jesus for help. Jesus gave out an instruction to them,  and as they set out to obey His instruction,  they automatically received their healing miraculously.

Surprisingly,  they all, with the exception of just one, behaved as though nothing happened,  they simply moved on on their journey.

This ingratitude didn't go unnoticed to Jesus Himself,  He asked.. Where are the nine? Luke 17:17.

Today,  Jesus is still demanding... "Where are the nine? "  For every miracle and help you have received,  are you also behaving like nothing happened?

To move on in life's  journey, seeking for more miracles,  justifying your actions on the basis of legitimacy and forgetting all of His benefits is the height of ingratitude that is blocking you from receiving more of His blessings.

You can start by learning to appreciate God for the daily provisions and protection.

Let your soul Bless the Lord.Psalm 103.

 *Are you a grateful  soul?*

*A Grateful life is a graceful life.*

Bible reading: Mathew 10:41-42

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
