DO GOOD ALWAYS

Text: Galatians 6:9

Do not be weary in well doing, because in due time you will reap it if you faint not._*

While growing up as a little child, my mother told me a lot of life-changing stories that I thought were real Bible stories. But as I grow, I realised that the stories were not in the Bible, but none the less impactful.

Permit me to share one of those stories with you today:

Two  men were living in a story building. One was living up while the other was living downstairs. The one up was a righteous man, who was always doing good. The one down was the exact opposite.

One day the evil man downstairs said to himself "despite my riches and affluent, I don't have the peace and joy that this Godly man upstairs has." So he decided to go meet the man and tell him to show him the way to true joy and peace.

Meanwhile, the good man upstairs felt what's the point of being good and faithful after all. Despite his holy living and good deeds ,he is not as rich and comfortable as the evil man downstairs.

So the man upstairs decided to go meet the one down so he can show him the way, while the one down also decided to go up to learn the good way. While the two of them were at the staircase, they fell down and died. Now, the two of them were judged based on their last resolves.

This goes to say that, yesterday's good cannot suffice for today.  You must carry your cross daily and follow Christ. It is a continuous daily walk.

Do not be weary in well doing, because profiting only comes when you keep at it, when you faint not. Gal, 6:9.

The Angel that spoke to John the Apostle, gave  us His final words in Revelation 22:11,that let him who is holy continue to be holy and let him who is righteous continue to be. However, he also said let the unrighteous continue to be. But the summary was given by Jesus in verse 12 ,when He said "Behold, I come quickly and my reward is with me to give to everyone according as his works shall be."

You still have the chance to amend your ways today.

Be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the works of the Lord, in as much as you know your reward is not in vain in Him. 1 Corinthians 15:58

Bible reading: 2 Thessalonians 3:1-18.
