REPENTANCE (1)

 Study Text:2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Nothing brings God closer to a man than a repented, contrite and broken heart( Luke 18:10-14). Too many people that are unwilling to repent from their sins, find it easier to profess Jesus as their Saviour but never accepted His Lordship. His Lordship would demand an outright change of mindset and behaviour.

The first call and response of the early Converts, was a call to repentance. The people, having heard the gospel from the mouth of Apostle Peter were firstly pricked in their hearts, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:37-38).

Repentance is not a sign of weakness rather, it is an indication that you belong to God.
The text says, "If my people which are called by my name......" Repentance is that which helps God's people find their way back to God. So, every child of God must always be quick to turn away from foolishness to the path of wisdom. (Mathew 21:28-31). It is only those that has either become God's people or about to become God's people that repent.

One of the qualities of the devil and his followers is that they do not repent. If there is anything you need to repent from today, I will like you to do So NOW. Do not hesitate to repent of any hidden sin in your life TODAY. God wants your heaven to be opened. That is the reason you must repent of all known sins.

 To be contd......

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

THE GREATEST

Text : Matthew 18:4   *Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.*   *Being the greatest in the kingdom is not about what you do but who you are.* Jesus pointed out here that little children are humble beings. Hence, what qualifies a person as the greatest in the kingdom of heaven is humility. Little children are both lowly and meek. These are qualities that does not come naturally to an adult. For instance, when you bring a little child from a wealthy background to live in a very poor home with another poor little child, he will gladly comply without any struggle. He will never complain or compare. He will simply adapt and gladly receive all the low and impoverished treatments. No adult or grown up child can accept this so easily.  That is the reason Jesus did not ask us to be converted and become as a child but ' *little child* '   _And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be co...
